Digital menu boards

Digital menu board software that switches menus by daypart

Describe your menu and the AI Designer builds three on-brand boards you can fine-tune in the editor. The scheduler swaps breakfast, lunch and dinner on time, and every board keeps playing from a local cache if the internet drops.

First 3 screens free. No credit card.

01

Boards designed from a sentence

Type "lunch menu, six burgers, bold photos, dark background" and get three layouts to choose from. Every element stays editable.

02

Breakfast, lunch and dinner on time

Map each daypart to its own playlist once. Screens switch at the minute you set, every day, in each location's time zone.

03

One price change, every location

Edit a price in the corporate board and it flows down to every store that inherits it, while local specials stay local.

04

Keeps playing during outages

The player stores content on the device and plays from that cache, so a dropped connection never leaves a black board over the counter.

Design a menu board by describing it

Most menu board tools hand you a blank canvas or a stock template. DigitalSign starts from your words. Describe the items, the mood and the screen layout, and the AI Designer returns three variations built as editable scenes, not flat images. Then keep talking to it: "make the prices larger", "put the burger on the left", "make it vertical", or "now a breakfast version". Each request edits the design directly, so nothing you have adjusted gets thrown away.

  • Three variations per prompt, each fully editable
  • Follow-up edits in plain language
  • Landscape and portrait from the same design
  • Templates to start from when you prefer

Dayparting built for restaurants

A weekly timeline shows exactly what each board plays in every block of the day. Assign a playlist to Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon, Dinner and Late night, copy Monday to the rest of the weekdays, and add exceptions for holidays. Limited-time offers run as Promotion priority so they win over the regular menu for their date range, then step aside automatically when the promotion ends.

  • Restaurant daypart template to start from
  • Recurrence such as weekends or the first Friday of the month
  • Promotion priority for limited-time offers
  • Temporary overrides such as "sold out for the next 2 hours"

Run one menu across many locations

Set the menu at the corporate level and let it inherit down through regions to each location and screen. A regional price or a single store's special overlays the inherited schedule without breaking it. Today, prices are edited in the editor and published to every screen that uses the board. Live price and item syncing from point-of-sale systems such as Square and Toast is planned, starting with generic JSON, CSV and REST feeds.

  • Inheritance: Corporate, Region, Location, Screen
  • Local overrides without editing the master board
  • Takeover campaigns across every screen for a set window
  • POS and data feeds planned, not yet available

Hardware you already understand

Any TV with a modern browser can run the player at player.digitalsign.co, and Android and Google TV devices are supported. Pair a screen by entering the code it shows into your dashboard. Content downloads to the device, is checked, and plays locally, so the board stays up if the network goes down. From the dashboard you can take a screenshot, refresh, or restart any board without walking behind the counter.

  • Browser player on smart TVs, PCs and sticks
  • Android and Google TV supported
  • Offline cache with checksum validation
  • Remote screenshot, refresh, restart and clear cache

Open the player on each TV and enter its pairing code in the dashboard.

FAQ

Digital menu boards: common questions

What is digital menu board software?

It is software that designs, schedules and plays menus on TVs instead of printed panels. DigitalSign adds an AI Designer that builds boards from a description and a scheduler that changes them by daypart.

Can my menu board prices sync with my POS?

Not yet. POS connections such as Square and Toast are planned, after generic feeds like JSON and CSV. Today you edit prices in the editor and publish them to every screen at once.

How do menus change between breakfast, lunch and dinner?

You assign a playlist to each daypart on a weekly timeline. Each screen switches at the times you set, in its own location's time zone.

What happens if the restaurant loses internet?

The player stores its content on the device and keeps playing from that cache. It syncs any changes once the connection comes back.

What screens can I use for digital menu boards?

Any TV or display with a modern web browser, or an Android or Google TV device plugged into it. A 4K-capable commercial or consumer display works well for menus read from a distance.

How much does a digital menu board cost to run?

Your first three screens are free. After that, plans start at $3 per screen per month, and AI design is included from the $5 AI plan.
